I feel bad that this review is mostly critiques, but maybe this is the point where I realize this series is no longer for me. Our resources are crucial for knowledge lovers everywhere—so if you find all these bits and bytes useful, please pitch in. I guess I didn't really realize Nikki's life was unfolding in the beginning but, I definitely realized it in the end! With more than fifty-five million books in print, the series has garnered such honors as two Kids’ Book Choice Awards, an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work for Children, the Milner Award for Children’s Literature, and a Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Book of the Year nomination. Nikki believes that two certain users, SelfieChic and LuvMyLipGloss are really Tiffany and MacKenzie and thinks they're cyberbullying her to get back at her.Rachel Renee Russell is a lawyer who prefers writing children's books to legal briefs (mainly because books are a lot more fun and pyjamas and bunny slippers aren't allowed in court). I probably won’t though in the hopes that there is an occasional gem and because I’ve stuck around this long that I’d feel like a traitor if I gave up so soon.

Now, the only thing Nikki has to worry about is making the decision on whether to go on the trip to Paris or the tour with Bad Boyz. Nikki tries to talk to Brandon to set things right and get him to understand, but he has to work on his Fuzzy Friends project. Nikki doesn't have much time to continue because she has to go see the new Princess Sugar Plum movie with Brianna later. Dork Diaries was a huge part of my childhood because I absolutely fell in love with Nikki and Rachel Renee Russell.Plus the drama is eye-rollingly predictable, the characters are dumber than elementary school students when it comes to talking to other people, and MacKenzie isn’t even an interesting antagonist anymore, just an overblown stereotype of the typical pretty mean girl who I’m pretty sure doesn’t actually exist. I wish the book was more clear because watching Nikki and Brandon beating around the bush is getting frustratingly confusing. She has to choose between going on a national tour with her band as an opening act or go to Paris, plus two boys have crushes on her.

The author started the Max Crumbly series and while I'm not going to get into that one, maybe that one is better. I give this book five stars because of it's introduction to new characters to freshen things up, it's constant funny one-liners(ex: the scene where Nikki's Dad messes up the social media names, the line about MacKenzie pulling Nikki's 'hospital plug' for her cell phone battery, etc. The Dork Diaries series has been translated into forty-two languages worldwide and its characters are as diverse as the millions of tweens who read the books. But I’m starting to realize I’m just not in the mindset of a middle schooler anymore and maybe it’s time I put this series down. Under the stress of what she's going through, Nikki looks over the info packet for the Paris trip, which reminds her of the time she flew on a plane to Indiana with Brianna.Nikki accidentally hurts Brandon's feelings again by hanging out too much with André, leaving him thinking that they have feelings for one another. Rachel is also the author of a second New York Timesbestselling series, The Misadventures of Max Crumbly, which received a Kids’ Book Choice Award. Fearing what Brandon would say about them if he saw them, Nikki plans to warn him about them so he doesn't get the wrong idea. André took a selfie with Nikki and her friends yesterday, which led to other girls wanting one with him. The book spans two weeks of Nikki’s diary entries where every day she seems to have mini disasters, many of them featuring her cute and naughty dog Daisy.

If the next book is a lot more fleshed out, the author determines the fate of the Branikki relationship, and she makes more funny one-liners, it'd be the perfect book. Rachel Russell's writing was significantly better in the earlier books when they were first picking up momentum.Nikki meets up with André in the library having breakfast to talk about what Nikki's summer plans are. Now Brandon doesn't want to talk to Nikki while MacKenzie glances at her from afar with her evil plan having succeeded. It seems Andrea is a little nervous about attending WCD, but Nikki tells her she has nothing to worry about and she'll make sure her week there is a memorable one.
