About this deal

If you live in a flat with a communal system, you will need to set your Sky Q box up for Single Cable Router (SCR) mode Press Home on your Sky Q remote, highlight Settings and press 0, 0, 1 then select. You’ll be taken to installer settings. The extension cable would work (and I have one of those) but it they don't look great laying along the edge of the carpet/wall. I was hoping to hide the cable under the carpet. Frequent updates have made it even easier to navigate, too: 'expanded view' has replaced the static side-bar menu with a collapsible one that can be hidden to give more screen real-estate to what you're actually browsing. You can also change the 5GHz channel that Sky Q uses, although this option cuts the available bandwidth in half. To do this, go to any Sky Q box and press the Home button. Scroll down to Settings but don’t press anything.

Sadly, no matter how good the box is, most of the available programmes are either rubbish, repeats or repeated rubbish, such is 21st century TV. Very poor show from Sky!Never had a problem, SkyQ 2TB, AV amp Pioneer SC-LX59, 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos speaker set up, Musical Fidelity M3si driving front speakers through the AV amp. The Sky Q boxes create a Sonos-style mesh network, meaning the speed of your broadband isn't so crucial – the wi-fi network itself determines how well the system streams content around your home. If you have Sky Broadband, each box also works as a wi-fi hotspot. Volume seems to be well standardised across the channels, so you don’t have to keep reaching for the remote whenever you switch over. Once all the cables are securely connected, put your viewing card into the slot on the right-hand side of your box, chip first with the chip facing up.In most cases, then, if you get connectivity problems on a Sky Q Mini box, it’s because of interference on the 5GHz network, although 2.4GHz interference can cause problems. Knowing that, the answer to the problem is to avoid interference. Here are the steps you can take. Change your router’s Wi-Fi channel Mentioning as there seem to be two threads on Trust Pilot, one for sky in general and the one I have tioned specifically for sky Q. I've no idea if the router uses a 'figure 8' ICE C7 cable but I will have a look. The second part of your reply looks hopeful so I'll do a search! Once your box is switched on and the on-screen start-up messages have disappeared, press Home on your Sky Q remote.

SparkyOnTv said:Five stars?!? Really?! As good as television gets?!? Bullsh*t. You clearly didn't live with the box for any length of time or compare it to other services in terms of picture and sound quality. The box in its current form is not fit for purpose. Sound drop-outs, unusable apps due to buffering, awful picture quality, the list goes on. You're a mug if you think Sky's service is worth paying for. Let me know the exact model of the device that you wish to power and I will make a recommendation for you.

The circular cable is like an adapter which first goes into the 2TB box and the normal cable then goes into the adapter. Don't know why Sky have done it like this. It helps to understand why your Sky Q box is not designed to work with a single cable. The first Sky boxes could be operated fine with a single cable and a second cable only become required with Sky+ and Sky+HD which allowed you to pause and rewind the TV and schedule and store recordings to an internal hard disk drive. For this extra feature you needed a second feed. I won’t into it much more here but I discuss in greater detail on my Youtube Video “ What’s New With The Sky Q LNB?" When it comes to regular HD, which is what most users will watch most of the time, there are more hi-def channels on offer than ever. Hi, I received my 2TB box today and noticed the different power connection. The leaflet that comes in the box doesn't show this. There are actually 2 power cables in the box which is not immediately clear. It includes electrical noise reduction, heat reduction and over-voltage protection, keeping your device powered and safe.
