About this deal

Breastfeeding is recommended from birth onwards with the introduction of appropriate weaning foods around six months. Talk to a healthcare professional. My daughter was diagnosed with a TT after quite a bit of weight loss and being told it was my milk that wasn't good enough. It was a breast feeding consultant at a clinic at my sure start centre that referred me and she had it cut five days later. In the meantime I was topping up with expressed and formula as well as feeding her so I know how hard you are finding it and how tired you must be!

My silver cloud to introducing a bottle so early was they fact that my lg who is now six months will happily take a bottle if I go out or need a break whereas a lot of my BF friends can't leave their babies as they ring take one. You are doing a great job, it can't be easy for you at the mo. Do you have a pump? If you are aiming to continue to breastfeed pumping will prob help keep it going until the tongue-tie is sorted -would recommend trying to get to a breastfeeding clinic Monday for support. Giving him formula now sounds as its best for both of you, to give you time to recover! If expressing works for you then you could give that by bottle instead. We will base the list on what Aptamil confirm and allow you to decide whether each product is halal. It’s also worth noting, Aptamil class using Fish oils and Lactose (milk) in products as unsuitable for vegetarians. Approx. age: Up to 2 weeks*, Approx. weight: 3.5kg, 7 3/4lb, Single feed: 70-90ml, No. of feeds per 24 hours: 6-8 Approx. age: 5-6 months, Approx. weight: 7.6kg, 16 3/4lb, Single feed: 210ml, No. of feeds per 24 hours: 5-6I'm really struggling to breast feed my 1 week old boy at the moment due to bleeding nipples and he was diagnosed with a tongue tie yesterday. He has been hysterical today, fighting me when I try to get him to latch on, so my hubby has just suggested using a starter bottle of aptamil we bought just in case. I'm sat here devastated watching him drink a bottle and feel like a failure. I'm so scared my milk will dry up. I think I may even have mastitis in one boob so I'm going to try and express now.

Use Aptamil® Toddler Milk as part of a varied, balanced diet from one year. Use Aptamil® Organic Toddler Milk as part of a varied, balanced diet from the 12th month. Approx. age: 4-8 weeks, Approx. weight: 4.7kg, 10 1/2lb, Single feed: 150ml, No. of feeds per 24 hours: 5-6 You are not a failure. Tongue tie is one of those things. My son had it and it was not diagnosed until he was severely ill in SCBU with 15.8% weightloss and life threatening levels of dehydration, jaundice and high serum sodium. If anyone should feel a failure it is me as I nearly starved my baby to death trying to breast feed a baby who could not transfer any milk. I did raise my concerns to every midwife I saw for a week and was patted on the head and told to get on with breast feeding. Baby was never weighed and the jaundice was not recognised. I made a massive complaint to the hospital and worked with the staff to improve monitoring of babies breastfeeding. Your baby may need more or less than the feeding guide above. This information is given as a guide only. Consult your healthcare professional if you require more advice. To warm the feed, stand sealed bottle in hot water. Remember to test the temperature on your wrist before feeding the baby. Don't feel like a failure your certainly not. However no exactly how you feel as I had the same, and after a few tearful days I came to conclusion bottle feeding was my only option.
