About this deal

Uncertain how Zealios compare with Cherry MX Browns, seeing as I don't have any Browns with me, but I do have Zealios V2s. I was... very not impressed by the Zealios. Zealio– The 67 g Zealio switches feel Crisp & responsive with a tactile bump feeling at the top. They have more cushion during bottom out than the 65g Zealio V2. The tactile bump of the Zealios V2 switches is not only a slightly stronger tactile bump, but it is definitely located earlier on in the downstroke and has a much less substantial linear pre-travel region.

Note: when i compare to Holy Panda, i compare with a HP with a bottom stem cutted out (the HP stem is longer and the tail hits the bottom, making a very infuriating sound to me). While the tactile bump in the Zealios V1 Redux switches is ever so slightly more punchy than that of the TTC Blueish White, a better comparison would be to say that the Zealios feel more coherent and sharper. The TTCs, by comparison, feel a lot more muted and less clear in their tactile bump part of their stroke.Zv1’s stem is going the way of the cowboy for now, and so I thought I’d take a bit of time to go over some of the alternatives in case you think you’d prefer Zealio V1 over the V2. There’s the Outemu Sky (Which I have not and will probably not try), the Cherry MX Clear and the Ergo Clear, and the new Arctos switch, which I’ll obtain to give a try sometime. I’m excited to see how they are. What gives the Tealios its extremely smooth actuation is its stem legs, the stem itself appears to be made out of an outstandingly smooth plastic mould, and it shows in its construction where nowhere on the stem is rough to the touch. The legs are also angled perfectly to give the linear actuation of the stem a good balance between weight on the downpress and upstroke.

I compared them to a bunch of switches I had on hand on my mill-max tada68 pcb in a tofu65 case. The zealios v2's were compared to: zealio v1 67g, zealio v1 78g, outemu sky v 2.2, box royals, and box browns (not in pics). My other boards are BKE light topre boards, 55g topre, 45g topre, i'm a big fan of tactile boards and am always excited to try out new switches. The Tealios V2 are a boutique linear switch offered by ZealPC which features a 67g spring, Gateron-made housing, and a smooth, linear stem in Tiffany & Co. blue, no I'm not joking, the pantone for the stem is inspired by Tiffany & Co, and it's adorable. It sets itself apart from color from Zeal's popular purple Zealios, Hermes orange Healios, and pink Sakurios and Rosélios switches. It’s not every day you get to review something as groundbreaking as this, and I’m already on Thanksgiving break and procrastinating on studying, so why not add a few more comparisons for the hell of it? Zealios V1 (62g.) Overall, I liked the combination of great tactility, smoothness, and a noticeable bump with a satisfactory feeling for the Zealios v2 switches. While slightly stronger and perhaps a tad less scratchier, the housing collisions in the Kiwis are pretty similar to that of the Zealios V1 Reduxes. Bonus Round

Wobble is this issue where a stem does not stay completely put in the middle of the switch and instead moves around from side to side once nudged or once a keycap is mounted on top and the keycap is moved around. To me, this is a negligible non-issue and will be given much less attention than the rest of the criteria. Your experience and opinions may vary so if you have any specific questions you can ask me or comment below. The good ol’ boi. Always solid, in my opinion, they need at least a bit of modding all the time though. You will enjoy typing on this switch. The Holy Pandas from Drop comes to Unlubed and works fine. You can even lube the switches to make them as per your typing experience and tactile need. It is worth pointing out, here, that yes, this force curve above does imply that even though the Zealios V1 Redux switches have Zealios V2 leaves, they also do look more like that of the V1 Zealios in terms of their force curve. Again referencing the aforementioned changes to the leaves of the Zealios switches that occurred over R1 to R3 of the sales, it is likely that this comparison was made to one of those later V1 switches rather than the earliest ones, as one would expect slightly more noticeable differences from the true earliest attempts at the Zealios V1 leaves. Additionally worth pointing out is that force curves are not generated purely based on the leaves of a switch, and thus the changes made to V2 stems almost certainly played a role in further differentiating the force curves of these switches rather than purely the changes made to the leaves alone.

WOBBLE: Surpisingly this switch wobble is almost non existent, I don't care much about wobble but was nice to notice this change (compared to old zealio v1). Both in terms of tactile bump strength as well as tactile bump size, the Novelkeys Cream Tactiles are noticeably more tactile than the Zealios V1 Redux switches. In addition to the bump being longer throughout the stroke, as well, it also starts a lot earlier in the downstroke in the Cream Tactiles than in the Zealios. The bottom out sound is also not that amazing, it is a bit muted. The tactility is crisp though, so if you are looking for something that is tactile and pleasing to type on, these are perfect. But if you want something that is really tactile, then go with the other ones I mentioned. These seem to be in the same camp as the Outemus and are a bit less wobbly. The bump happens at a different place on these guys though.Zeal Zealios V2 are custom tactile Gateron switches designed by Zeal PC. Available in four spring weight variants; 62g, 65g, 67g or 78g. They are rated at bottom out force, not actuation! Switch Variants

The bright yellow stems and the milky housing gives this switch a distinct look. Its tactile bump is crispy, snappy, and can be felt almost instantly when pressed. The stroke can be described as slightly scratchy, but it shouldn’t be any problem in day-to-day use. Regarding the weight, for some reason the 62g seems to be more tactile than the others here, in general the travel feels slightly better. On the Zilent i would say 62g>78g>67g. For some reason the 67g isn't the best of the batch here (and usually this is the best for me). Zealios -"Crisp & responsive" tactile bump feeling at the very top with more cushion during bottom out than 65g Zealios V2. Zealio - For those that prefer a slightly lighter MX Clear, but want a bigger and smoother bump than MX Clears / Holy Pandas. The tactile bump is round and snappy at the very top. From beginning to end, the spring is heavier than all other Zealio variants. The tactility event doesn't start right at the top like the Zealio v2, on the HP there is a small pre-travel and end-travel outside the "tactility event", so there will be also less chance of bottoming out on the Holy Panda (let's be honest there, you will bottomout anyway with both, due the rounded, long and big tactility of both switches).Holy Panda switches are made from Halo Clears or Halo Trues, and the housing is found on Invyr Panda switches. This might be a good option for people who doesn't really want to bottomout, but still the tactility is really sharp guys. The tactility event starts right at the top and feels like it ends up right before bottoming out. Basically with this switch i feel like you will always bottomout.
