About this deal

Really just a great amp all around. It's nice to have an amp sound this good without blowing your ear drums out. It has a good range of tones, Marshalls have a tendency to sound muddy and bottom heavy but this amp really has plenty of clarity and high end. The high gain channel sounds great, an overdrive pedal really isn't necessary other than a boost. The clean channel takes pedals great but there is definitely a serious dip in volume between the clean and overdrive channels. If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows: I have been using this amp for a couple of months now and am finally ready to post a review. Wasn't sure what to expect, my only other Marshall was a British-made JCM2000 DSL100. In short, I love this amp. The cleans are excellent and the Ultra Gain channel is a blast to play through. The shared eq isn't an issue in my opinion, Marshall did a great job voicing the eq so it works well for both channels. Yes the reverb is weaker than a Fender, but I don't use much anyway and the market is flooded with reverb pedals if you need more. Speaking of pedals, this amp loves them. I can run my pedalboard through the front with no problems. The Classic Gain channel is surprisingly clean, with more headroom than I expected. The amp is loud at 5 watts, but don't expect to gig with it (without a PA). Low power mode works great for late night practicing, and .5 watts is louder than I expected it to be! Marshall's partnership with Softube® has led to the creation of award-winning plug-ins, as well as exceptional tone in Marshall's CODE digital amps. The same team is responsible for the development of the new emulated output feature, found in the DSL series. Both the headphone out, and line out on the DSL models boast incredibly accurate emulation of the famed 1960 cabinet.

Whether it's bright, clean sounds you're after, creamy overdriven tones, or super-saturated distortion, the DSL5CR has got you covered. Each channel has individual Gain and Volume controls, and share the powerful 3-band EQ, allowing you to sculpt the perfect tone with ease. Not only that, but the fabulous Deep Switch control from previous DSL models is still present, and there's even a Low/High power switch for you to alter the amp's output (from 5 Watts to 2.5 Watts), giving you even more sonic possibilities. However, the Classic Gain channel takes pedals extremely well and goes from clean to scream with a wide variety of dirt boxes, and the Ultra Gain, as stated before, smooths put considerably when the speaker is broken in. It gets all the Marshall sounds I could ever want to get, and the digital reverb is very usable at all levels. The reverb is also nice (nothing to write home about but decent) but it needs to be cranked up to get the best out of it. Unlike the previous-generation DSL5C, this new one has reverb (thus the R), which is great if you don't feel like dealing with pedals and improves its portability, and it also has separate gain and master volume for the clean channel, making that channel genuinely useful. The high-gain channel goes from crunchy to metal. It's quite loud at 5 watts but you can switch it to 0.5 watts, which will let you turn the volume up to 5 or more without bothering other people in your household or building. The DSL5CR features two foot switchable channels: CLASSIC GAIN and ULTRA GAIN. The CLASSIC GAIN channel can deliver sparkling clean sounds through to the more aggressive break-up of a Marshall JCM800 amplifier. The ULTRA GAIN channel provides even more distortion and break-up for players looking high gain tone from their amplifier. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided.

The DSL5C features professional quality digital REVERB and a series FX LOOP. The LOW POWER function adds a further dimension to the DSL sound, giving you rich valve tone at an ear-friendly volume. Trusted Shops The next generation of the Marshall DSL series amps are laden with Marshall tone, features and functionality for the novice, as well as pros performing on the world's biggest stages. All models include adjustable power settings, which delivers all-valve tone and feel, at any volume, from bedroom to stage. The new technology adjusts power to the valves, instead of just turning off valve stages, allowing the amp to remain articulate and dynamic.Set up both classic and ultra-gain tones with Marshall’s two channels. Each of these come with their own independent gain and volume controls, allowing you to get the perfect balance between overdrive level and volume. Craft the ideal range of levels. From crystal clean through to the edge-of-breakup and onto full-on saturation. The DSL5CR has a 3-band EQ for full tone sculpting and a reverb control to add a sympathetic ambience. The tone is generated by real valves so you can be sure you'll be getting real saturation and organic responses. The sound is focused through a Celestion Ten-30 10'' speaker that gives the perfect balance between portability and projection. I got my first tube amp for home use and I was so happy with it that I wanted to recomend it. (I play it with my Epi Dot with Pearly Gates set, and Squier Mustang. No pedals) The DSL is now more versatile than ever, with new features including discrete master volume controls for each channel, and built-in reverb.

The Dual Super Lead amps have long been a staple of the Marshall range, since launching in the '90s to great critical acclaim. Known for their ultra-versatile sound as well as their surprising proficiency with high-gain sounds, they eventually came to be hailed as a modern classic. Now Marshall have unveiled the latest generation of DSLs - offering everything you loved about the originals but with several tweaks aimed at the modern player! Both channels share a passive three-band EQ, with BASS, MIDDLE and TREBLE controls. The EQ section also features Tone Shift, which when activated reconfigures the pre-amp mid frequencies making DSL ideal for contemporary metal tones, especially when combined with higher gain settings. When I first took the amp out and was trying it out I was getting sudden drop outs of my signal, I just pushed all the tubes up as snug as they would go and that seems to have fixed the problem; I blame fedex for that one.
