About this deal

If your plaster is sound, once the walls have dried out you should be able to treat them with a salt neutraliser or an anti-mould cleaner to get rid of any salt deposits or mould spots before redecorating. Dryseal waterproofer is both an effective and breathable formulation, and so we can recommend it for waterproofing your outside walls. Dependent on the substrate, type and degree of soiling, we recommend the use of one of our Masonry Fungicide Productsor Green Gone Path & Patio Cleaner. When cleaning, make sure that the masonry is damaged as little as possible. When your external walls are exposed to a water source such as rain, this water can enter your masonry, in some cases travelling laterally from your external walls to your internal walls.

into masonry it can take up to two months for a noticeable “beading effect” to appear when rainfall strikes the wall.

Damp Proof Your External Walls With Dryseal

Treat your internal walls with anti-mould cleaner and salt neutraliser before redecorating to prevent the reappearance of salt deposits and mould With its unique thixotropic consistency and excellent water repellent properties on a range of building materials, Dryseal Masonry Waterproofing Cream stands out. A one-coat application, Water Repellent / Waterproofing Cream used for the treatment of Penetrating Damp in external masonry surfaces. There are a few reasons why your masonry may have faults and each of these causes will have its own solution, which we will discuss here.

This is a problem because they can act as a bridge for damp that has accumulated in an external wall to travel across the cavity to the internal wall, again creating a damp or cold patch. Before a water repellent impregnation is carried out, crusts of dirt and pollutants as well as efflorescence, algae and moss must be removed by a suitable cleaning procedure. Cleaning opens the pores and capillaries, allowing them to absorb the impregnation agent. Full cure up to two weeks depending on climactic conditions. Tools and equipment must be clean and dry prior to use but can be kept wrapped in plastic during short breaks in use.

Checking Your Wall for Faults

If you want to be sure that your salts and mould won’t return, you can apply a waterproof render or fit a mesh membrane to your wall before replastering.
