About this deal

Feeling the travel itch, the 58+ features an easy detachable preheat controller, meaning that you can go off-grid and brew espresso anywhere. With the Flair Espresso Maker, you have a complete manual espresso machine that can produce professional quality shots of espresso from your home, or wherever you are. Flair comparison, the Flair wins because of much better brewing temperatures, but also wins on brewing pressure and on volume of coffee grounds used. This enhancement of thermal management is key to delivering consistent, beautiful espresso shot in and shot out.

Having a built in pressure gauge is a nice feature, and it shows you how much pressure you build up using the built in hand pump. With Flair you have a bit of work to do before pulling your shot, this is mainly the compromise you have to make to get the increased portability. There’s been a few portable “espresso” makers introduced since, some hits, some complete wiffle balls. Features the Standard Brew Head with a 60ml reservoir and our Bottomless 2-in-1 Portafilter with a capacity of 12-18 grams.Available in 5 models: NEO, Classic , PRO 2, and 58 these beautifully designed espresso machines will surely be the signature of your kitchen, office or coffee station. This is especially interesting to me because I can use a grind in the ROK that is much closer to my traditional espresso machines (without it stalling during the shot pull), whereas I have to use a coarser grind (and therefore less overall surface extraction contact) with the Flair, when pulling double shots. Also, the dispersion screen was re-engineered to come with a silicone gasket to better hold it in place, as the original design sat sort of loosely, using friction of metal on metal to stay in place.

We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.I thought the biggest issue people would have with the machine was finding the right grind, and using the right piston lever pressure, but the cleaning regimen between shots was seen as a barrier, as well as brewing multiple shots. The Flair PRO 2 is made from durable materials like cast aluminum and stainless steel, so you can be sure your manual espresso maker, by Flair, is built to last. The Flair Classic is the original manual espresso maker that turned the craft coffee industry on its head in 2016.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state and country to country. Actually, it was ridiculously simple and took me about 20 seconds to put together for the first time, with no instructions necessary! Comparing the classic Flair with the solid steel tamper, to the standard Rok which comes with a plastic tamper, I have to give this one to Flair. Also, the portafilter with the Rok doesn't feel particularly high quality, the handle is plastic, and it comes with a plastic spout (you don't have to use the spout, of course).

The ROK’s other disadvantage is its metal bits are aluminum in and around the machine’s hot water and coffee area (the portafilter is steel though), and aluminum dissipates more heat than steel does. BUILD TO LAST - Made from durable materials like cast aluminum and stainless steel, you can be sure your manual espresso maker, by Flair, is built to last. What helped is that the inventor, Sergio Landau, had the project ready right up to the manufacturing stage when he launched his Kickstarter: he had the prototype finalised, had the tooling and mold ready to go, and just needed the funds to do production on the initial 800 machines. I finally got through to one of their retailers who told me it’s been discontinued, and who didn’t have anyone to contact to even check! The main brewing group comprises four parts: an outer collar made of thick steel, and designed to retain heat; a piston that slides into the brewing collar, one that eventually the lever will push to create your brewing pressure; a “portafilter” portion that contains the grinds chamber and output screen; and a removable dispersion screen you place above the tamped, packed ground coffee.

Bottomless 2-in-1 Portafilter – Perfect for when espresso brewers are ready to control their extraction more. The shots are more “espresso” like, with proper temperatures, better crema, more viscosity and overall, just a much better shot. Take control of your espresso by measuring your coffee beans by weight, and by measuring out output of espresso. Fast becoming the espresso maker of choice for the home barista, with Flair you have a truly affordable way to make your own professional quality espresso at home or anywhere. The company also sells the Signature model, which features a polished aluminum frame, and a copper brewing chamber holder. If you’re brewing a single shot using 7-10g, the same grind you use for your pump driven espresso machine will do fine in the Flair. I think they're both great manual non-powered Espresso makers, I'm really impressed with the quality of the shots I've been able to pull using both of them, considering there's no power involved. The carry case is a nice option, allowing the entire machine to break down into a small travel package.
