About this deal

Once again Kendall is on her outlier island. I have a really hard time figuring out Alice Feeney's books. On the one hand, her writing is addicting and grabs you in from the get go... but OH NO... that ending?! OH god... that was pretty horrible folks. Yikes.... double yikes. But I changed my mind after I figured out (a bit before Anna realized it) that Catherine Kelly was now Cat Jones. Your misdirection flawless, with plenty of plausible red herrings for us to suspect and then reject along the way! Coincidentally, Cat Jones is the same Catharine that was at Anna’s birthday party; she is also married to Anna’s cameraman in the present storyline. This was a huge red herring, though. The Spoilers:

By the end of revelation you will get the answer of Who? and Why? but you will be confused to answer how? Feeney improves on her debut with a taut suspense plot, many gleeful twists and turns, and suspects galore. There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. This is the second book that I have read from Alice Feeney. The first one was ‘Sometimes I Lie’ which I gave 5 stars. But I liked this one even more!Stunning, addictive … this book should not be missed!’ Samantha Downing, Sunday Times bestselling author of My Lovely Wife So I was truly surprised when the book suggested that Cat was the killer and THEN had Anna suggest that she was the killer and then FINALLY have Anna’s mother confess to the crimes. Twist upon twist upon twist! While I guessed a few of the twists along the way, in no way did it take away my enjoyment of this delightful read! Highly recommend for all thriller lovers. And if you enjoy audio....this would be the one to listen to! I listened to this audiobook in just a couple of days. Right from the start, there's twists and turns that pull readers deeper into the story. I thought that was super clever. There were moments when I thought that mystery perspective was every single character I had met thus far.

My slight criticisms are totally personal preference and nothing to do with the author, or her skill at weaving an intriguing tale. I was second guessing everything the whole way through as the story unravelled. Just when I thought I had everything figured another twist would take me in a new direction.

Stunning, addictive ... this book should not be missed!’ Samantha Downing, Sunday Times bestselling author of My Lovely Wife One thing I didn't like was the descriptions of animal cruelty. I understand that authors use this to make a point, but I really feel it’s unnecessary. That being said, I found the rest of this dark and unsettling tale gripping and entertaining. It was one of those books which showed you a huge suspect - hinted that there was more to it and there was a clever villian lurking out of sight, unexposed .............. but then it turned out to be the obvious killer ... yawn!

A news presenter and a police detective are brought together by murders in the British village where they both grew up. A] cunningly constructed psychological thriller...This is a masterpiece of misdirection." -- Publishers Weekly, starred review You know there are some books make you hooked up, glued to your hands and occupied your mind and soul so you barely breathe and function till you finish it. But in the meantime you wish it never finishes because you’re having so much fun and adrenaline, excitement, endorphin make you high! You want more! And you start to punch the walls because there is only one chapter left and you’re getting closer to finish it and you’re gonna love it so much and you start to compare the other books with it and you see that most of your reads turn into meaningless, boring experiences. Then there is the unknown male narrator (a/k/a the creepy AF voice). Way to give me the heebie jeebies dude! Feeney does it again! His & Hers is a twisty dual-narrative that gives Gone Girl a run for its money and leaves you wondering if you can trust anyone. I couldn't stop reading." - Christina Dalcher, bestselling author of VoxAnd-the murderer-a distorted VOICE on the audio, who could be male or female, and who explains the motive and murder to YOU, the reader, beginning in Chapter One. This is where the YAWN came in. I fell asleep as I slowly became more and more bored and disenchanted with this unlikable tale and woke up in the middle of some awful part about cats being captured and having their tails cut off. MANY thanks to NetGalley, Flatiron Books, and the incredible Alice Feeney for an ARC of this book! FINALLY available in the US as of 7/28!*
